The Pier 62 Carousel is set on the scenic Hudson River in a newer area of the park and delights with it’s unique carousel animals! Instead of the traditional horses, almost all the animals represent native animals to New York State like rabbits, ducks, and even a sturgeon! But worry not, there is a whimsical unicorn adorned with monarch butterflies for your more traditional rider. Although charming, this carousel hardly had anyone around it, despite it being a busy time of year. The accompanying music was also a little odd, it seemed like they pressed play on a radio playing whatever (family friendly) pop/Disney tunes they felt like instead of the usual carousel-y piped in music. But, overall it’s worth a visit with plenty of fun outdoor things to do nearby.
