Fun Fact: The “Jane” in “Jane’s Carousel refers to Jane Walentas, wife of DUMBO developer David Walentas who led a 6-person team on a meticulous restoration of the 1920’s carousel which was originally from Idora Park in Youngstown, Ohio. The glass enclosure by the Ateliers Jean Nouvel is a unique architectural development meant to invoke a jewel box and incorporated techniques used for large scale aquariums and airplane hangars.

Jane’s Carousel – CBS Sunday Morning

Jane’s Carousel is a magnificent beauty of restored vintage carousel horses situated in a glass jewel box with views of the East River and the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges on either side. A very popular destination within Brooklyn Bridge Park, so expect long lines and a crowd! A nice ride anytime of year since the space is enclosed- and there are huge ceiling fans for those hot days!
