Quiet, quaint, and a neighborhood gem. Located at the front of Forest Park off Woodhaven Blvd and Myrtle Avenue, Forest Park Carousel is nestled on top of a small hill, overlooking the rest of the beautiful park. The charm of the carousel speaks for itself, pretty lights overhead, fun rides all around, and countless outdoor activities nearby. Just walking from the parking lot to the carousel felt like I was outside of the boroughs. Seeing picnic tables, families barbequing, passing a pond, and walking trail all before entering the kid-friendly amusement park with the carousel right in the center. For families in the area, nature lovers, or tourists coming from Van Wyck from JFK, it’s the perfect escape.
