Visiting the Flushing Meadows Carousel offered a real glimpse into the heart of Corona, Queens. Surrounded by families from all different backgrounds—speaking different languages, sharing snacks from local vendors—it felt like a community gathering spot more than just an amusement ride. The carousel, tucked into the greenery of one of the queens’ largest parks, serves as an outlet for play and connection in a neighborhood defined by its diversity. It’s wedged between busy roads and rows of apartment buildings, but once you’re there, it feels like a pause—a place where people come together and kids just get to be kids.
